Pendant tout le mois d’août 2022, j’ai eu la chance de faire partie des 13 artistes du Symposium international d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, sous la direction artistique de Anne Beauchemin. Cette 40e édition était intitulée Connecté-Interconnecté : le monde numérique en question. J’y ai réalisé une œuvre puisée dans diverses matérialités sonores présentes à Baie-Saint-Paul pour créer un trajet sonore à parcourir, en perpétuel changement et reconfiguration, en écho aux multitudes de résonances dont vibre ce territoire. Dans ces tâtonnements, j’ai cherché un possible fond de « rayonnement sonore » résiduel de la gigantesque déflagration qui créa jadis le paysage que l’on appelle aujourd’hui Charlevoix.
During August 2022, I was one of the 13 artists taking part of the International Symposium of Contemporary Art of Baie-Saint-Paul, under the artistic direction of Anne Beauchemin. This 40th edition was entitled Connected-Interconnected: The Digital World in Question. I produced a work drawn from the sound materials present in Baie-Saint-Paul to create a sound journey in perpetual change and reconfiguration, echoing the multitudes of resonances that vibrate this territory. In this groping search, I looked for a possible residual « sound resonance » from the gigantic explosion that once created the landscape that we now call Charlevoix.
